Brunswick-Topsham Land Trust

Brunswick Topsham Land Trust-Logo

Since 1985, the Brunswick-Topsham Land Trust has preserved more than 1,100 acres in the neighboring towns of Brunswick and Topsham in our effort to protect properties with true ecological, agricultural and aesthetic importance.

More than 800 acres are protected by permanent conservation easements on land owned by private individuals and close to 400 acres are owned outright by the Land Trust. In our geographic area bounded by the Casco Bay coastline and Merrymeeting Bay, and crossed by the Androscoggin, Cathance and Muddy Rivers, open space, forest and the few remaining areas of agricultural land are threatened by the increasing spread of residential development.

Once these natural resources are lost to development, they can never be reclaimed. By working to identify and protect the irreplaceable features of these two towns, BTLT is working to maintain the natural heritage that make Brunswick and Topsham the livable communities that we love.
