At Schoodic Point, migration monitoring volunteers stay busy identifying and counting seabirds
on their way south from late August through November. Flocks of cormorants, eiders, Canada
Geese, mergansers, and an assortment of diving ducks routinely pass by within binocular
range of shore.
Visit with the volunteer bird counters on a daily basis from sunrise (~7am) to 10 AM,
and again in the afternoon from 3 to 5 PM. Learn how to look at flying birds through a spotting
scope and test your skills at identification.
