Free Intro to Ice Climbing, Bangor
February 13 @ 1:00 pm - 5:00 pmFree
Join us in downtown Bangor to learn about ice climbing on Wednesday February 13th from 1-5pm for free! No experience is required!
We will go over equipment information and introduce how ice climbing and belaying work then get right to climbing. We encourage all participants to not only climb but to learn to belay as well. We utilize redundant belay systems that provide security even if a new belayer makes a mistake while learning. We will choose climbing routes that will be fun and challenging!
What you need: Ample Psych, Warm hat, jacket(s), gloves, thermos / warm drink & snacks. We will review waivers with you upon meeting.
Meeting Time: 1:00pm-5:00pm
Meeting Location: When leaving downtown Bangor head northwest on Harlow St / Valley Ave passing the Library on your right. Shortly after crossing the bridge over the Kenduskeag there is a pullout / parking area on the right, meet here. We will outfit you with climbing boots, a harness, and a helmet. If you have a day pack to use bring it to keep your parka and extra layers dry when not using them.
