The State of Maine is conducting a big push to help the New England Cottontails survive the quickly approaching winter. New England Cottontails live in dense, thicketed habitats that are not plentiful. We are helping them by planting ~1,500 native plants at Scarborough Marsh from 9:00am – 3:00pm on Wednesday, September 19th and Wednesday, September 26th. Interested volunteers should bring: water, a lunch, snacks, sunscreen, a hat and bugspray. All planting supplies will be provided by the State of Maine. Volunteers should park at the Gervais Lot across from Black Point Auto located at 52 Manson Libby Rd, Scarborough, ME 04070.
