When Locals Go Big; Climbing Denali, Greenville

February 9, 2019 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm

Free

February 9th 7:30-9:00pm Refreshments provided.

In the spring of 2017, Greenville natives Rodney Folsom and Kevin Bradford traveled to Alaska with plans to climb Denali, North America’s highest peak at 20,320’. In an expedition that lasted nearly 2 weeks, including a bush plane flight onto a massive glacier followed by a 5-day approach on snow to their base camp, they managed not only to summit the peak, but to ski and snowboard back down the snow-covered slopes. This ski-mountaineering trip was the culmination of a lifetime spent outdoors for these two, starting in their backyard, the Moosehead Lake Region.

Join them for a remote video chat from their homes in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, as they present a slideshow of striking photos from their trip to the cold, desolate Alaska Range.
